This body of work focuses on finding value in social situations and capturing them through drawing. The drawings are not produced after the moment but rather created while the moment is originating, existing, or occurring. Experiencing the subject, whether it’s driving down Lake Shore Drive, watching a home video, a televised soccer game, or viewing a rock video, is when the subject is most alive for me. The adrenalin of live drawing helps me connect and participate with the subject’s social experience and at the same time fuels my own art/artist experience. This hyper-alive environment exposes new insight.
